Ahmad Kuhlmann Balkiss

Ahmad Kuhlmann Balkiss works with data science, generative AI and the development of solutions for the public sector. With an academic background in public health and medical statistics, his starting point is understanding data, uncertainty and the decisions that analysis is intended to support. During COVID-19, he was part of a team at the Danish Patient Safety Authority working with large datasets and forecasting models for the national effort to contain the spread of infection.

His subsequent work includes data-driven tools for public-sector employees and governance of applications based on large language models. A particular focus is transparency about how solutions work and how their quality and use are monitored. In his professional communication, he also highlights the foundational data work: data cleaning, setting expectations and translating between technical and non-technical disciplines.

Through Fjeldmann Solutions, he has contributed to developing the AI interpreting solution KONTEKST together with Droids Agency. The project is aimed at conversations where specialist terminology and the context of the dialogue matter to the translation. The published project description includes trials by municipalities as a source of learning about the solution in practice; the work is therefore closely connected to users' specific situations and needs.

His consulting experience ranges from identifying suitable applications and developing concepts to pilot projects, implementation and embedding solutions within organisations. Usability, data security and AI governance form part of the development task. His professional profile thus combines statistical analysis and model work with product development and the organisational considerations needed to make a public-sector AI solution work in everyday practice.
